Sex, Marriage and Fairytales

I was automatically moved after watching this video and couldn't wait to share it with you.  It's a video that really hits close to home for so many of us.  I can count on one hand the number of couples who are in the midst of separating or divorcing in the past few months.  It hurts my heart, I can't imagine how Jesus felt.
Take the time to watch this video.  Listen to the words, replay it over and over again.  The fundamental message for me was do not put your spouse on the level of God.  Pursue Jesus as your foundation first!  Don't raise your partner with the expectation that they will never fail and if they do it would be the end.  In the message it talks about how we would not abandon our children if they spilled something on the floor or hurt us.  So why is it that we do that with our spouses?
It's not the love that sustains the promise, it's the promise that sustains the Love.  Until Death do us Part does not mean, until the feelings go away.  Stand firm on the Word, keep your eyes fixed on Him and He will reward you with a lifelong friend and partner.  Do not give up, on one another.  I encourage you to read Ephesians 5 and press into the word of God.  He will be the Foundation that will get you through anything.

Lean on Him

Do you ever have those days where you just feel like you have taken on too much?  The weight of everything that is ahead of you seems almost unbearable and overwhelming to think of walking forward with all of it?  Sometimes it's difficult to prioritize when everything seems it's a priority.

Well, I'm here with good news for you!  The Lord will carry your burdens.  He will take everything for you and take care of it.  Simply...ASK, SEEK and KNOCK.  It's that simple.

Matthew 7:7-8
[Asking, seeking, knocking] “Ask, and you will receive. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Whoever seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door is opened.

Matthew 11:28-30
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

He doesn't say that you won't endure challenges, but He will help so you do not feel them as heavily.  Lean on Him, let Him do the good work in your life.

So in those days of trial and burdens, Ask the Lord to guide you, direct your steps, get in the Word of God and open the door to new opportunity.  God is good!

Every New Level...

Have you ever heard the phrase, 'Every New Level, there's a New Devil'?

Sometimes we feel like just as we get over one hurdle, another one comes our way.  We tend to question whether this is God's purpose for us or whether we are off the track going the wrong way.  Questions begin to swirl our thoughts if we were intended to do this, if we heard from God correctly or if we are doing something wrong.

Well good news, if we seek Him first, the Lord will make the crooked path straight for us.  We will be able to conquer our fears, go down paths we never even dreamed possible and be able to look back on our testing and realize it was a TEST that's all.

Through my walk with the Lord, I've realized that I'm not alone.  There are so many problems in our world today that it seems like we will never get through this together.  We must stand united, pray for others, expect great things and He will do the rest.

As you are promoted to each new level, know that if He lives within you He will get you through the testing time.  He is your rock, your fortress, your conqueror and your deliverer.  Get your shield of Faith out and your sword of the Word and fight the devil with everything you have.  The Lord will bless you and keep you, have no fear.

Fruitful Not Busy

I have to catch myself daily to make sure that I am not too busy to enjoy each day.  I remember listening to a podcast from Joyce Meyer about busy-ness.  Instead of saying we had a busy day, we should be saying, "I had a fruitful day."  How is what we do contributing to the kingdom of God?  Seek Him first before all things and your steps will be ordered.  I challenge you to keep in mind each day to be fruitful.

What are some ideas to be fruitful?
1.  Do something random out of sincere kindness for others.
2.  Call a friend or relative who you have not spoken with in a while.
3.  Tell your husband or parent you love them..just because you do.
4.  Smile...simply that-smile.
5.  Take a few deep breaths and pray.  Different times of the day, stop and pray.
6.  Remind yourself at the end of the day all the things you have to be thankful for.
7.  Speak the word in truth and love.

These are just a few ideas, feel free to comment and add your own.  What are you going to do today to be fruitful?  Remember next time someone asks you how your day was and you respond with busy...are you able to say it was fruitful?

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

You were made Perfect in His eyes!  Can you believe that?  I am just so in awe today of how much thought our Lord put into creating each one of us.  I was reading Psalm 139:13-16 and enjoy The Message version of it.

Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out; you formed me in my mother's womb.  I thank you, High God, you're breathtaking!  Body and soul, I am marvelously made!  I worship in adoration, what a creation!  You know me inside and out, you know every bone in my body; You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something.  Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day.

Before you were even born, He loved you.  He loved you so much that He created you exactly how you are.  Unique and Beautiful.  We get so caught up by commercialism and what we see and hear is considered beautiful or perfect.  Why not be happy with who you are in Him?  Enjoy life, love one another and seek Him first and He will reward you with more than you could have ever dreamed possible.  Don't conform to the world.  No one else has your beautiful smile, colorful eyes or does that thing when you laugh.  Stand up and jump for joy today.  Praise Him for You!

I wanted to share with you a free printable to remind you of how beYOUtiful you are.  Enjoy it, frame it, give it as a gift to someone that needs to know how much they are loved.  I will post another colour palette of this design later this week.  If you would like a different colour than fresh lemon yellow, message me.  Have a blessed day!

Love Never Fails

I'm back.  Can you believe it?  The Lord is doing a good work in me!
I'm so excited to be back and hare with you a favourite of mine.  Can you guess?  Love.  There are so many scriptures about Love.  Ephesians 5:2, Romans 12:9, 1 John 3:18 just to name a few.  But when I think of the word love, I'm automatically drawn to 1 Corinthians 13:4-8.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.   Love never fails.

How could anyone say it any better?  It's perfect!  This scripture has been there for engagements, memorable wedding ceremonies, anniversary cards and birthday keepsakes for those we care about.  Words spoken, never to be forgotten.  The Word of the Lord is so powerful, He knows exactly the right words to say.

I think tonight it will be a good challenge for us all to not only speak the words of Love but also show it in deed.  A challenge for you!  Love Never Fails!

A Long Time Coming....

Have you ever been so excited to do something in yet so scared it stops you from doing what you knew you are supposed to be doing?  And when you think about what you are scared of, you really do not have a good reason?  Well, it happens to me...more often than it should!  I have been praying for direction.  Sometimes we get confused as to what the Lord is telling us or sometimes we question whether it's the Lord or our flesh.  I have so much inspiration to share with you, I'm overflowing with excitement and ideas.  So much to share, and so little time to execute it.
What inspires you?  What are you passionate about?  Good questions for some good answers!  I have so many things I'm passionate about.  The love of cooking and the joy it brings to others when they take their first bite.  The passion for planting the Word of God in other people's lives to bring them joy and bring them to know God.  My family, I love my family and am always trying to capture the perfect moment on camera.  I could go on for sentences on end but you will have to join me over this adventure and we can share our talents, passions and inspiration.  God bless!
