In my heart, Valentine's day is what you make of it. If you get wrapped up in all of the commercialism and fall into purchasing outrageous prices on regular items then that is unfortunate. In our house, Valentine's day is simple. We cuddle, say Happy Valentine's Day, I love you, exchange cards, make dinner or lunch for one another but to be honest aside from the card exchange and Happy Valentine's Day...this is for us and should be like any other day. We should be showing love for one another every day, in a relationship, single, widowed; whatever your situation, show love to everyone.
What if God only showed his love to us on one day of the year? How would that make you feel every other day? Where would our lives be if we didn't have His Love? The love that matters, the love that heals all things, rejoices over all things and can conquer any obstacle.
Romans 8:38-39 says:
For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.HE loves you 365 days of the year, unconditionally. Even when we mess up, turn away, feel like giving up. His Love is new every morning. Bask in his love, and share it with others.
Love one another as He first loved us. Please don't use Valentine's Day as the only day to show others love, we would not be where we are today without His Love-the one true love that matters.
